    Sara
My name is Sara Nemec. I’m a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a double major in German and print journalism. I also am a student writer in the UW-Eau Claire News Bureau. I am studying abroad in Marburg, Germany, from mid-February until mid-July. This is a blog chronicling my experiences as I immerse myself the German language and culture. In 2008, I and six other students applied for UW-Eau Claire’s program in Leipzig, Germany. We were accepted but the program had to be closed because there were too few of us enrolled. Luckily, the Center for International Education staff, as well as our German faculty, were not about to let us down. They worked together to find other German programs that would work for and with us. Eventually, they settled on a program from UW-Stevens Point that is based in Marburg, Germany. Thanks to our UW-Eau Claire professors and the CIE staff we will spend several months in Germany. Please join me during these next few months as I live and study in a foreign country. I hope experiences will inspire you to study abroad yourself! This blog will be updated weekly with stories and pictures of my experiences.

Thanks for the travel updates! I enjoy reading them. I can only imagine how cool the "German" Chocolate Museum was. I look forward to more stories.

I write for a study abroad/travel website Gulliver and we welcome blogs and stories from students who are currently abroad or recently returned home. It would be great if you could write a story- about any part of your trip- for our website. Thanks!

    Mollie,

That sounds great! I would love to write a piece for Gulliver's Web Site. Please send me further information at nemecse@uwec.edu. Thank you!
